Why offer your questionnaire in several languages?

A respondent always understands and completes a questionnaire better in their own language. With the Multilingual module, you manage every translation in one place, and all answers stay consolidated in a single results dashboard, whatever language was used. You keep a global view without juggling several questionnaires.

Set up a multilingual questionnaire in 5 steps

  1. Finalize your main language first. Before adding a translation, fully complete your questionnaire content in its reference language (questions, pages, final message). Any later change will need to be carried over into your translations.
  2. Open the Multilingual module. Go to Questionnaire Mode, then Creation, and click the Multilingual tab.
  3. Set the main language and turn on multilingual. Choose the questionnaire's reference language, then enable multilingual.
  4. Add your first translation. Click "+ New translation", then select the language you want to add.
  5. Translate field by field. In the editing view, translate your question labels, descriptions and help texts, answer options, as well as page and end-of-questionnaire texts. A progress counter (X / Y translated) shows how far along you are.
InfoGood to know: to add more languages, simply repeat step 4 as many times as you need. You can offer any available locale; the selector highlights French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Italian first.

Manage and edit your translations

From the Multilingual tab, each language you add comes with several actions:

  1. Edit: go back through the translation field by field to complete or correct it.
  2. Copy: duplicate an existing translation into another language to start from a filled-in base.
  3. Enable or disable: make a language visible to your respondents or not, without deleting it.
  4. Delete: permanently remove a translation you no longer need.

InfoGood to know: a translation can go live even if it is incomplete. Untranslated fields automatically display the main language text. Handy for publishing quickly, then finishing the translation as you go.

How the right language appears for your respondents

The displayed language is detected automatically from the respondent's browser language. The match can be partial: a browser set to fr_FR will show the fr translation. If the browser language matches no active translation, the questionnaire's main language is displayed instead.

InfoGood to know: whatever language a respondent uses, all answers are grouped into the same results and the same export. You analyze all of your data at a glance.
